Early Years Home Support

Early Years Home Support

Provided in Edinburgh & Midlothian

Early Years Home Support is available to families in Edinburgh and Midlothian, with a child under 5 years old or if expecting a baby.

Once you get in touch with us or after you’ve been referred, a member of staff will visit you to understand how we can best help you. You will be matched with a member of our staff or volunteer team who will visit weekly or fortnightly for up to a year, helping you set goals, and offering support that meets your needs. This might include:

  • Providing a listening ear and parenting support.
  • Mental health support and signposting to other organisations who might be able to help.
  • Practical support such as help navigating benefits and access to financial advice.
  • Support to access activities in your community, such as parent toddler groups or family outings to the park.
  • Giving advice about supporting a child with additional needs, including sign posting to other organisations who might be able to help.
  • Providing information about local groups including ones run by us. (Link to GROUP SERVICES)

Your member of staff will work with you to set goals for your time together. There will be regular reviews to allow us to respond to any change of circumstances. Support may continue for up to 1 year.

Many families have found the Early Years Family Support Service has made a very positive difference in their lives.

We accept referrals from professionals in addition to enquiries from families.
